Missing You (2025)
I saw this series when I had just come out, and it’s been on my list to talk to you about. But here, when the end of the year is coming closer, I decided it might as well be now.
The series in short
Detective Kat Donovan’s world unravels when she finds her estranged fiancé on a dating app. Leading her to reopen her father’s unsolved murder.
I got this information here.
My Thoughts
This was such an interesting series. I flew through it and finished it very quickly, which says a lot about how engaging it was. As I usually do not finish anything on TV, I close. I kept going back and forth, trying to piece together what was happening, and I was surprised by the twists and turns, and I enjoyed that.
It was tense and unsettling in parts, especially when Kat’s boyfriend suddenly shows up on this app. She is ready to move on, and there he is. Something I think all of us have experienced before. When you are ready to move on, they appear. He had left her in a horrible way, as he literally ghosted her.
The more she tried to find out what happened, the more she uncovered things about her father. In some ways, I felt she should stop digging, but I can absolutely see why she was doing it. But that’s what made it so compelling; every time she dug deeper, the story shifted. It kept me on the edge of my seat.
I really felt for Kat. Her situation was so layered. Her father’s choices had somewhat good reasoning behind them. Her friends also knew things they had not shared. All of the information hurt her to learn, but in the end, she knew what happened and how that impacted everything that happened after.
Her fiancé, even with his intentions, caused her so much pain. That had the biggest impact, that even with his good intentions, that hurt was still there, and I understood, but also felt so bad for Kat. I found this series very compelling and thought it was good.
