To TBR or to not TBR
Here is the thing: I am about two TBRs behind. Mind you, I have been reading a lot, and I’ve been working on a project that is still secret.
Overall, reading only works if it’s enjoyable, and having a designated TBR can be enjoyable, but it can also be frustrating.
Especially when it starts feeling. like a to-do list instead of a hobby. I’m still at the first book of my summer TBR. I’ve been reading a to, but I didn’t want to put my summer book away, but I also did not want to read it. Which is a bit strange, but I cannot explain it any other way.
I’ve also been finishing up the GoodReads challenge, and although I’ve read quite a few interesting books, I don’t want to focus on that in the new year. As it makes me read books I don’t necessarily want to read. It gives me less time to read what I do want to read. Some of those books were amazing, though, but I can find those by having a look, not by forcing myself to finish every single challenge.
The thing is, once you’ve finished most of the challenge, you don’t want to stop at the last few, or at least I don’t. As I am writing this now, I only need to achieve two more, and I will make sure that happens.
So sure, I wanted an end-of-the-year TBR, but then I only have more books I haven’t read, and thus, this December I decided not to make a TBR. But then, that too, is a challenge.
