All I need for Christmas (2024)
Writing about Christmas during summer always feels a bit silly, but there is always a bit of Christmas cheer even during the hottest months of the year.
The film in short
Struggling singer/songwriter Maggie is worried she’s unable to compete with such a tech-savvy world. Upon returning home to help her parents on their farm, she meets Archer, “an entrepreneur who has come back to town to spend the holidays alone.

My Thoughts
I found this film to be quite interesting. I thought Maggie’s resistance to technology was not only interesting but felt quite real. I also liked her arc in this aspect. As she saw it broaden her life instead of taking it all over.
I did like Archer and his sister, although I felt very sorry for the children, and it was a bit strange that his sister came across as quite a bad parent when we later learn she did quite well raising them. That did not come across at all.
Overall, I would that that it was a very sweet film.
