Wednesday season 2 part 1

I must say I was quite excited for the new season of this show. However, I was not best pleased to find out that part 2 comes out in September. I thought about waiting, as I wouldn’t say Wednesday is a particularly summery show, but then again. I needed to know, and after dodging spoilers for a week, it was time.

The story in short
Follows Wednesday Addams’ years as a student, when she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a killing spree, and solve the mystery that embroiled her parents.

My Thoughts
Some bits are clearly meant to be a laugh, but due to everyone acting so very seriously, it stops being funny to me. Now, this might be the stick or the Addams family, I would not know. As I said in my review of the first season, I never watched that.

Due to the time it took to make season 2, the boy who plays Wednesday’s brother, the Pugsley actor, grew a lot, but this does happen over the summer to children, which does not feel out of the realm of possibilities.

I do wonder why Pugsley does not seem to be popular at all. You would think some people would try to be close to him to then be close to Wednesday, who is, at this point, a celebrity of sorts.

I am also a bit confused about the sheriff questioning Wednesday and saying she can question her. Isn’t she supposed to be a minor? I found this quite strange. I do love that the parents have a bit of a bigger role in this season. I adore both of them and think they are so interesting. Morita’s outfits were so incredible this season, I absolutely adored them.

I find it deeply interesting that the psychiatrist tells Wednesday absolutely everything about Tyler that is so unethical, and all things considered, it should be one of the least of my worries, but it is not. It annoys me to no end.

I also found the change in Tyler’s whole personality to be off-putting. I felt so incredibly sorry for Bianca throughout all episodes. I disliked the headmaster in general, but his forcing her to use her power made my stomach twist.

I found Agnes to be an interesting person, although her demeanour was a bit annoying.  She did grow on me, I must say. The camp episode was very fun. The show did not start off as all that interesting to me, but by episode 3, I was really into it, and by episode 4, I wanted to know how it would go on. Sadly for me, that is where it ended.

Although I am keen to watch part 2 of the show, I am a bit peeved they put it in two parts, mainly because I tend not to want to see it by the time it comes out, and then I’ll forget about it. You would think that does not happen, but it has a few times.
