After the Credits

Dept. Q. season 1

When this show came out, I found myself on Netflix. It was quite intriguing, and I decided to give it a go. With the most recent news of a second season, I found it time for a review.

The series in short
Carl, a former top-rated detective, is wracked with guilt following an attack that left his partner paralysed and another policeman dead. On his return to work, Carl is assigned to a cold case that will consume his life.

My Thoughts
It was so intriguing that there were a lot of things left that would be interesting for another season, while the season itself and the main arc were wrapped up nicely. This is what I enjoy best about shows. It also did not feel that whatever they do that isn’t quite allowed is too far out of the realm of possibilities. I talked about this before. When I think it’s unrealistic, I lose interest.

Not that it was that realistic because the case itself was pretty out there, but the policework itself was not unrealistic. From the get-go, I thought the main character was the type of officer who did not take it too strict with the rules.

I really liked all the lovely shots of Scotland. I enjoyed all the characters, but Rose was my favourite. I cannot wait to see more of her in the next season. The ending was very interesting, and it made me excited for another season. The arc with the psychologist did not work well for me. Even though it was interesting, it was wildly unprofessional. That arc is hopefully over and done with. I cannot wait to see what case they will be tackling in the next season.
