Catrice true skin foundation

The funny thing about Catrice and Essence has this as well, they name their foundations the same way for each product. I always forget my colour as I am either 2 or 3 and I have been 4 as well. But I am always neutral sand. Which I am once again. This time, the foundation was number 3. But I do think that their aren’t that big of a difference between the lighter colours. I would also like to add that on their site there are a ton of colours which they didn’t carry in my store so I can imagine that it might be hard to find your perfect colour. In 2019, I made a post about why I stopped wearing foundation, which I did.

I have found that looking at myself on a screen for a year made me want to buy foundation again to get rid of some of my redness. I do think the way I view foundation is the way it used to before.  Besides this, in the summer I will probably not wear foundation as I usually don’t. Anyhow, let’s get into the review.

What does Catrice say about their product
The nourishing, long-wearing make-up with medium to high coverage feels feather light against the skin and gives an unparalleled, natural matte finish. The vegan formula with hyaluronic acid also offers intensive hydration. You can read more about them here.

What do I think
Honestly, to my utter surprise when I went outside this product didn’t stay on my face as long as I would have liked. It doesn’t melt away instantly but also doesn’t hold a full day. Now I do not mind this but it’s something to keep in mind. I do set with a power so this isn’t the problem. I also thought this product was very dewy, instead of matt. Imagine my surprise reading the label and website. Especially because my skin isn’t very oily at all, my skin actually looks dry most of the time. On me I keep thinking it just looks dewy. I do like the smell, I can’t quit place it. It smells very floral. The foundation does feel very soft and can be built up, I wouldn’t call it a high coverage except if you use a ton of it. Which I do not recommend, especially because the colour might look a bit odd if you use a lot I feel that the colour will look a bit ashy on my skin. I use the product on my cheeks and a bit on my chin and blend it out. This works great for me as it blends well in the skin and doesn’t look like you are wearing a ton of foundation. After using it for a while I have noticed some itching around my chin area which is why I stopped wearing face products to begin with, this is personal to me though. But helpful to keep in mind if you struggle with something similar.  I like the look of the packaging but I don’t like it in use. The white pump gets dirty so easily and the rose gold cap although lovely seems to attract fingerprints. I enjoy the product overall and think it’s a good deal for the prize.
