Paper Towns (2015)

Finally, finally I can talk about Paper Towns, it took me forever to finally watch it  but I did and at last we can talk about it on the blog.

What is the movie about?
After an all-night adventure, Quentin’s life-long crush, Margo, disappears, leaving behind clues that Quentin and his friends follow on the journey of a lifetime.

What did I think?
Although the beginning was cute I kept thinking that in the book they lived next to each other instead of across from each other and somehow that bugged me. I am now not sure but that is how I remember it.

It was good overall, I wouldn’t have pictured Quintin and Margo as the actor and actress that played them but they did an amazing job portraying the characters as good as they could. The director changed a lot from books which was kind of upsetting in a way but also understandable.

The ending was so different, which made the whole story different. From the timeline to the feelings the story brought. I did like it a bit better as there was more closure. The book left me heartbroken and confused but it was impactful and the movie didn’t do that. The movie didn’t stay with me for days, the way the book had. The movie didn’t inspire me to chat to others about the story where the book had done that. It was fine but it could have been better, nevertheless I enjoyed it.

Book or movie?
Do you need to ask? Book no question about it. Read the blog review here.

Have you seen Paper Towns and what did you think?
Lots of love, Melissa
